Choose an effort level for the task without confusing it with the app theme.

Keep in mind

In the current Chinese catalog, Light may appear as 浅色 because the label is shared with the theme. Here it means light reasoning, not a color setting.

Follow the steps

1. 1Open the agent for your taskOpen a notebook or script and open Coding Agent. Confirm the active provider and the file you want the agent to work with.
2. 2Open the Reasoning menuTap the effort control at the bottom of the panel. The menu offers Light, Medium, High and Extra High.
3. 3Start with MediumUse Medium for everyday tasks. Light favors a quicker, narrower pass; High and Extra High ask for more investigation and verification.
4. 4Adjust to the actual providerCodex maps the choice to the model’s supported efforts and can fall back to its supported default. Other providers do not necessarily expose the same native parameter.

If it does not work

• If the provider is configured but not used, select Use This Provider and check the active badge.
• For sign-in or key errors, repair the provider configuration before retrying a short request.
• Provider choices can depend on your App Store region, subscription and the provider account.
